A 240mm gyuto blank for makers who want to sell finished knives, not spend a week at the grinder. Heat treat is done. Bevels are ground. The cladding line is already there. What’s left is the part your customer actually pays for — the handle, the polish, the edge.

Construction

A VG-10 core forge-welded inside 67-layer Damascus cladding steel.

The cladding runs a tight straight-line pattern down the bevel, then breaks into a soft cloudy transition where it meets the core. That line comes out of the forge weld, not an etch stencil — it sits at a different depth on every blade, so no two units read the same. That’s why a clad blank finishes into a knife you can price well above mono steel.

Does the blank come sharpened?
Yes. It ships with a finished edge at 15° per side, double bevel. You don’t need to set an edge — just fit a handle.

Is the blank already hardened?
Yes. It ships hardened and tempered to 59–60 HRC, ground, and straightened. Grinding heat is the only way to undo that, so keep it cool during finishing.

What handle fits this blank?
Any wa-style handle — octagonal, D-shape, or oval — bored to take a 55mm tapered stick tang. Burn-in and epoxy is the standard fit.

Will it rust?
No. VG-10 core and Damascus cladding are both stainless. No forced patina, no wipe-dry routine for the end user.

What does the finished knife weigh?
Around 190–210g with a handle, from a 146g blank. Handle material and ferrule choice account for the spread.

Can I order a different size?
Yes. Blade length, spine thickness, and edge finish can be changed on production runs.
